Here are a few memories of my 'Nanny Farrow'.
I remember when I was in school. Nanny and Grandad would look after me on the holidays. Back then Nanny worked nights at Tooks bakery. Nanny would be in bed before I got round but grandad would let me know when I could go up and wake her up with him. I would climb in to bed with her and watch a bit of Knots Landing with her before she got up.
At Christmas time when we would all get together at Kerry Avenue she would always make a Cheesecake from a packet. I didn't like Cheesecake but loved helping Nanny bake things. She would always let me have ago at mixing the yourkshire puddings too. She made lovely Yorkshire puddings.
Most Saturdays when I was a little girl I would go round and see Nanny and Grandad and we would take a walk across the through the fields and park to Fancy plants. The field are gone now and houses have been built on them. There were a few horses in the fields we would always say hello to. Only this one time they were a little ant-social and when I went to say hello one of the horses started to chase me. Nanny became supergran and rescued me from the horse gaining a horseshoe shaped bruise in the process.
Nanny loved doing her jigsaw puzzles, which I always loved helping her with.
I have so many more wonderful memories of my Nanny Farrow.
Thank you Nanny for being the kind, loving and nurturing Nanny you always were.
Miss and love you always xxx
